I Answered 433 of Your Longevity Questions!
Originally published on Substack.
Every week in my office, the same moment happens.
A patient finishes talking about their heart, then leans in and lowers their voice. “Doc, can I ask you about something I saw online?”
Then the questions start.
Should I be on a peptide? Is Ozempic only for weight loss, or does it protect my heart? Is NAD+ worth the money? Do red light panels do anything? What about testosterone? Hormones after menopause? That cancer blood test my friend took? Cold plunges? Metformin for longevity?
For a long time I answered these one patient at a time, fifteen minutes at a time. But the questions kept multiplying, and the internet kept getting louder. Influencers selling. Podcasts promising. Companies charging thousands for things with almost no evidence, while some of the most powerful, proven tools sit unused.
So I decided to answer all of them. In one place. Honestly.
Introducing Longevity Unmasked
433 questions. Every answer graded by the strength of the evidence.
No sales pitch. No supplement line to sell you. No jargon. Just what nearly thirty years of practicing cardiology and reading the research every single day has taught me, written so anyone can understand it.
For every question, you’ll know:
-
What the science actually says (not what the ad says)
-
How strong that evidence is: proven, promising, or hype
-
Who it may help, and who should stay away
-
What to ask your own doctor before you try it

What’s inside
The new medicines. GLP-1s like Ozempic, Wegovy, and Mounjaro, and why cardiologists are so excited about them. Repurposed drugs being studied for longevity, from metformin to daily Cialis.
The peptides everyone is whispering about. What’s been studied in humans, what’s only been tested in mice, and what’s simply not worth the risk.
The “toys.” Sauna, cold plunge, red light, hyperbaric oxygen, IV drips, cryotherapy. Which ones earn a place in your routine and which ones are expensive spa days.
The tests. Advanced cholesterol markers, coronary calcium scores, full-body MRIs, multi-cancer blood tests. What to get, what to skip, and how to avoid the trap of finding “problems” that were never problems.
The foundations. Sleep, strength, insulin resistance, hormones for men and women, bone health, brain health. The unglamorous basics that still beat almost every trendy intervention.
Medicine is moving fast. So the book keeps moving too.
Here’s the problem with any health book: science doesn’t stop on publication day. A study comes out next month, and a chapter is suddenly out of date.
So I built a living companion to the book.
Explore the questions, go deeper on the answers, follow the links to the actual science, and get updates as new evidence arrives. When the data changes, the answer changes. You’ll be the first to know.

Why this matters now
I’ve been practicing medicine for nearly thirty years, and I’ve never seen a moment like this one.
Medications that seemed like science fiction a decade ago are in our hands today. Tools to detect disease years earlier are arriving. Research into how and why we age is accelerating in ways that genuinely excite me as a physician.
But with every breakthrough comes a flood of noise. My job, and the purpose of this book, is to help you tell the difference, so you can spend your money, your time, and your trust on the things that actually add good years to your life.

Leave a review on Amazon once you’ve read it. It helps this honest voice reach people drowning in hype.
And one promise I make to every reader, just as I do to every patient: talk with your own doctor before starting any new medication, peptide, hormone, or supplement. What helps one person can harm another. Knowing the difference is what this book is for.
The future of health has never looked brighter. Let’s walk into it together, with our eyes open.
Blessings,
